Teaching "Landmark Court Cases"

Essential Question: What makes a case landmark?

"Landmark" is a tricky word in a court case point of view. So an easier way to explain it is using actual landmarks. I grew up not to far from Boston and I used to drive down there a lot after college. Everyone in the US knows how famous the Green Monster is, but it's more important than you think! The sign that tops Fenway is very useful!! That Citgo sign has helped me many times when I am lost or telling how far I am away from somewhere. It gives me DIRECTION! A landmark case is something that is solid, not going anywhere any time soon, is consistent, bold/ in your face/ evident, and tells us which direction we NEED to go!! :)
Landmark case aren't going anywhere and give concrete direction!!
