This is how I broke down our Academic Plan on my website for parents and students

0 - Constitution Day: Sept 17 & Freedom Week: Sept 23 - 27 1 - U.S. Geography 2 - Types and Systems of Government 3 - Foundations of U.S. Government 4 - Declaration of Independence 5 - Citizenship (Things that make Ms. D giggle series [duties]) 6 - Service Project (To be completed during the school year) *Nike Shoe Drive	0 - 1 - Political Parties and Elections - Mock Elections (Q3 #2 Ex. Branch) 2 - Historical Formation of the United States Constitution 3 - Goals and Principles of the United States Constitution 4 - Overview of the Structure of the United States Constitution 5 - Bill of Rights and Civil Rights Amendments (Smart Song Series begins) (Civil Rights Amendments will be addressed in Q3 #3 for the Civil Rights

*please note the Smart Songs are very helpful in Q3 0 - History Fair (Bill Fair with Legislative Branch) 1 - Legislative Branch (Bill Fair- prupose your legislation) 2 - Executive Branch (Path to Presidency-Mock Election) 3 - Judicial Branch (Civil Rights Court Case Study) 4 - Laws and Courts and Mock Trial (James Bond vs Honda) 5 - State and Local Government (in the Bill Fair #1)	0 - 1 - Domestic and Foreign Policy *The Holocaust is moved to our ending Unit3 - Market Principles and Functions 4 - Role of Government in Economics 5 - International Trade 2 - The Holocaust *End of the year project is a series of 5 paragraph papers to get a full understanding of Genocide and how it has reoccured thoughout history
