My students began their iCivics games yesterday as a pre-assessment before we DIVE into the the Constitution. They began battling "I won more cases than you did," "well, I just got enough prestige to get another lawyer." Even my class full of students with middle school "too cool for school syndrome" began getting into it. They finished in record time, than went to RE-PLAY the games to get higher scores! Although the excitement for me was rewarding and relieving, it was quickly turned into another of my "silly children" shaking my head moments when a student went "Miss, it said duties." Oh My Students! Days like these make my job and low pay worth while.
