Directions: We will first read through your textbook together in a round-room-reading, then You will create a map brochure of
the 13 colonies. The colonies were broken down in 3 types(New England, Middle,
and Southern colonies). You will
divide your map up by the 3 types(color code map) to show
this difference.
In your brochure you will divide your brochure up in 3 sections
showing each type of colony(New England, Middle, and Southern colonies). For each type of colony you will
include in your brochure: Key figures and explain why they were important, geography, economy, government, and two
interesting facts you learned from your studies on each colony.
ON YOUR MAPS you will need to color code your maps showing the
3 colonial regions. You
will need a title for you map. You will then create a key showing the economies of each
region(how they make their money). Use the map from your workbook.
Rubric: What will I be graded on? This project is worth 60 points.
Map will be worth 20 points.
You will need to have your map color coded by colonial region 5points/
title 5 points/ completed key 10 points. Completed brochure for each colonial region is worth 30 points. Each region
needs to have the information included from above (geography, economy,
government, two interesting facts) 10 points each region.
This should
be a fun project and something you take pride in. The final 10 points
will be for quality/neatness of work.
I can tell who rushed through and threw something together or who put in
quality work!
You will
have today’s class and the following class block to finish the project. Make sure you are using your time
